Launch Event: 10th October 2013

Gorebridge 2 450x300The Gorebridge CARS was officially launched on 10th October 2103.  Over 60 people attended including representatives from partner organisations and many residents of Gorebridge. 

Midlothian Councillor, Jim Bryant, Member for Economic Development welcomed everyone to the event at the Gorebridge Community Development’s office at 58 Main Street, Gorebridge and emphasized the importance of the scheme in helping to regenerate and improve the centre of the town. 

Archive Pacey, Chair of the Gorebridge Community Development Trust then spoke about the historic importance of Gorebridge and the need to restore and enhance its historic character.

A brief presentation was then given by the Gorebridge CARS Project Manager about the scheme and the opportunity for owners of eligible buildings in the scheme to make applications to the grant fund.

An exhibition about the history and heritage of the town was available to view together with an exhibition about the scheme.  All attendees were handed a folder with information and guidance about how to apply for a grant.
